This might be what you've been looking for in an overdrive/fuzz box! The blend between the two is simply wonderful! The Fuzz Head is designed to work like Fuzz Face pedals that many players use as a LEAD BOOST. A Fuzz Face can be muddy, lacking note definition, too bassy, and lacking sustain. An overdrive sometimes doesn't give enough or is too smooth. In contrast, our design is transparent, has a better frequency response, and gives you that cutting edge for lead breaks.

* The Heart of this pedal is a NPN Germanium Transistor.

* Additional Gain Stage, a Darlington Pair of high gain silicon transistors for tons of volume output. This is great for overdriving tube amps or other overdrive pedals.

* Buffered output so that it can drive pedals or amps with a nice high current and low impedance signal.

* True-Bypass--offers you a clean true signal when the pedal is off.

* Silicon/Germanium Toggle switch. This is like a gain/style switch. The "SI" mode inserts two diodes (one silicon and one germanium in parallel) in the distortion circuit so you can have a modern twist on a vintage sound. Guess what??? Since its first release, we have made the Fuzz Head even Better!!! The new boards have an internal tone control! Have the best of all fuzzy-overdrive-lead boost pedals.

This pedal after a BD-2 is a fantastic lead boost tool. Gotta BD-2? Try the FUZZ HEAD for your lead boost after it. Leave the BD-2 on, then just fire up the Fuzz. You'll be amazed!

With this setting, you'll have enough volume gain, and overdriving a Fender Twin is even possible! Here's a picture of one of the original releases... too cool to take off the site. Inquire about custom colored pedals!!!

This pedal is simple and ready to use out of the box...BUT for those that like to tweak, fiddle and fuss with their tone, YOU ARE IN LUCK! Not only is there in internal "Overall Gain Range control" (let's you go from cleanish fuzz to real heavy duty judy) but there is a socketed input cap for your bass response desires! Yup, the Fuzz Head comes with a little sack of goodies! High Quality Panansonic metal film caps that you can install to alter the bass response of the pedal. I think you'll love it it as it comes, but heck, you might want more bass, you might want more of a cutting tone, you may even want a notched wah/filter type tone...You got it baby! A Gold Socket is installed so that you can just drop in the cap of your choice if you chose. Probably not needed, but I loving modding things and turning people on to tweaking their gear! Feedback from you guys is what creates my effects and designs. So let me hear it. Heck, call me up a demo yourself playing on the phone! I'd love it!

Okay one last thing, The red on this pedal looks so sweet! It is super glossy and reflective. One downside, it is very prone to scratching and marking. Units may have light marks on the bottom as we play test these units relentlessly. Have fun and fuzz out.

Okay, promise, one more thing. TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE! I ran two of these fuzz heads together and the tone was to die for...actually I tried 6, 7, and 8 together, yes, it still sounded like a guitar! Wow, the buffer on these pedals we designed in really makes life a dream. See the TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE DEAL BELOW! And a Compressor after the Fuzz Head is also a real tone treat! "Robert - your Fuzz Head ROCKS big time. I used it at out gig tonight. Just got home and a quick note before I got to bed. Yeah - I used it in front of the clean channel of my Badcat. Used a Les Paul all night. I had the Fuzz Head on the GE setting, fuzz at 2 o'clock, head at 11 o'clock. Used it for solos. Very articulate. Sounded great. Best damn distortion pedal I've played in years. And I've played a lot of 'em too. You have a great product there my man.

Here's another observation - I have been spoiled by multi-channel high gain amps for years. No pedal has done the trick to sub for a fine point-to-point amp's overdrive channel. I'm not talking about the amount of gain (because overdrive amplifiers still rule this zone if one must have an insane amount of gain). What I'm talking about is the tone quality of a pedal. I have been not been satisfied with distortion pedals (be they fuzz or tube drivers) because they all fall short in the tone department. As soon as you turn up the gain, they all buzz out, or get muddy and can't hang with the lower notes. The Fuzz Head has terrific tone quality. The best tone quality out of the smorgasbord of pedals I have tried (from all those popular boutique pedal makers). It is articulate and hangs well with the lower notes. Close your eyes and you think you are getting that lead tone out of your tube amp and not a pedal - amazing. I have been looking for a pedal to use in front of real Marshall plexis for some time as an alternative to using channel switching amps. This is the pedal. One other note - this pedal will sound different in front of various amps. It enhances the natural tone of whatever amp it is plugged into. In other words, it doesn't take over the amp's tone circuit - this is good. One final note - I used the Fuzz Head before my Univibe clone (made by one of those infamous boutique pedal builders I referred to above). That Univibe clone sounded better than it ever has with this Fuzz Head driving it. I heard the swirls like never before. Great job Robert!

I've been playing with the Fuzz Head, and I have to say that it's not only the best sounding fuzz I've tried, but it's also the most usable. I sold my MJM Foxey Fuzz in anticipation of this, and I can honestly say that this is a better product. Also, I want to commend you for encouraging tweaking. (That socketed cap idea is brilliant!) Your mods have inspired me to experiment, and I recently had great luck putting a Burr Brown chip in a Chandler Tube Driver. I like to think of it as a tube driven Klon.

********Paige Harwell, my wife's cousin, plays the sound clip ;-) It's all Keeley effect pedals, the Fuzz Head for the heavy stuff at one minute or so through a Mesa Head, the Time Machine Boost, the DS-Ultra for the Yngwie stuff, the Compressor, Keeley dual toggle modded wah pedal and Bd-2 for the country stuff. Gawd I love to watch him play!************
