Vintage Relic - ALNICO II magnets, scatterwound with a slight underwind and scatterwound to ensure a smooth, rounded, and warm tone. These singles coils really make you feel like you have a vintage guitar in your hands and are for those that like a softer sound than most bright single coils. Neo-Vintage - Here is what we have pioneered and mastered--recreating the tonal past with modern features, techniques, and components. Neo-Vintage are comprised of ALNICO V magnets, custom magnetized to a Keeley-specific strength, FORMVAR wire (in this design, underwound and scatter wound), are wax potted, and as with all pickups utilize our unique GREEN CIRCUIT BOARD MAGNET ASSEMBLY! Take a look at the incredible form for holding the magnets! This is how we push the past forward!
MODERN - Here is kickin' pickup! It's scatter wound, handwound, ALNICO V magnets charged to a very specific strength at our shop, potted to keep things quiet at any volume, and of course built on our unique circuit board rigid magnet structure.

SOUND CLIPS! New as of August 19, 2008
These are some fun clips turned in to us by Mike Hanson. He is playing a 95 or 96 F-Strat with stock pickups and both the MODERN and VINTAGE designs for us (one clip is labeled stock pickups for a reference point). It is nice to hear the liveliness in the pickups that's produced and the variety of tones possible. The vintage ones clearly have an older and softer output as well as a treble that is really fun to listen to. The modern designs have a bolder sound... in fact both versions of ours dont not have the somewhat dull tone of normal pickups. The pickups shine and you get a feel as to what it would sound like with basic reverb. Effects are kept to a minimum so the clips are a little dry sounding on purpose to really expose the tones we worked hard to create - THIS ARE PLAYED INTO A MIXER - NOT A MIC'ED AMP. I'm pleased with the wide range that's obvious even in a basic setting. Fun listening!

The recordings were ran to a mixer board then to Acid pro 6.0. I went direct. Reverb was done through a Roland AC60 which is actually an acoustic amp.
